Are you passionate about working with satellite data and GIS? Do you want to contribute to the development of advanced Earth observation solutions? If so, we want you on our team!

At World from Space, we are pioneers in utilizing satellite data for agriculture, sustainability, and environmental monitoring. We propose an optimization of urban green infrastructure in Copenhagen and Lisbon, we monitor ecosystem services and climate vulnerability of naturally protected sites or optimize fertilizing and precision farming activities. We develop advanced AI applications for the assessment and forecasting of various environmental parameters. We are also in the process of building the Czech national satellite AMBIC and data tools for a future Moon mission LUGO.

We actively collaborate with software companies, environmental consultants, and organizations like the European Space Agency (ESA) or the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA). Additionally, we actively participate in research projects with prestigious international institutions.


We are currently seeking an individual with a strong technical background in EO and GIS. We expect you to possess leadership and communication skills and be unafraid to invent solutions or ask for help when needed. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in designing methodologies, developing solutions, and validating algorithms for satellite data applications.


This will keep you busy:

  • Designing solutions: Designing technical solutions and writing proposals and methodologies for various satellite data applications.
  • Algorithm Development and Validation: Supporting the design, development, and validation of algorithms for satellite data processing and analysis.

  • We use AWS, Github, Google Workspace, JIRA, Notion, Slack, and Jupyter Notebook.
  • We work part-time from the office in the Brno city center, part-time from home

Qualifications we need from you

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in Earth observation (EO) data, remote sensing, and designing technical solutions.
  • EU working permit is required
  • English C1, and additional languages are a plus
  • A PhD in a field related to Earth observation, GIS, or a related discipline is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Technical skills: Knowledge of satellite remote sensing (optical and SAR), familiarity with GIS technology and applications, and experience in developing algorithms for satellite data processing. Machine learning experience is a plus. Proficiency in data science tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Matlab). Experience with Sentinel data processing. 
  • Additional skills: Strong technical and analytical capabilities. Ability to write high-quality technical documentation. Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities effectively. Teamwork skills. Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
