Backend developer
ROUVY is the world's leading realistic indoor cycling platform. It allows athletes to exercise, compete, ride with friends for fun, and much more. With thousands of real routes filmed on video around the globe, we aim to create the most realistic home experience for cyclists of every level, by bringing the outdoors indoors.
We are now looking for an additional backend developer to join our team. We have event-driven microservice architecture that is mostly written in Python and NodeJS and deployed in GCP.
Our technological stack is: Python, NodeJS, TYK Api Gateway, GitHub, DataDog, GCP (mostly cloud run, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub), Terraform, MongoDB.
What kind of responsibilities will you have?
- Design, create and maintain services
- Implement new features
- Write documentation
- Setup monitoring and alerting strategies to ensure quick and effective response from OnCall team
- Optimize existing services for best performance
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leads on creating new solutions, you will be an active part of the discovery process
- Work with the QA department to fix the issues and guarantee the best possible performance and quality
What competencies are we looking for?
- Experience with micro-service software architecture and API development
- Excellent knowledge of either Python or NodeJS (ideally both) on a very good level with emphasis on readability and structure of the code
- Knowledge of Git
- Super knowledge in software design, coding patterns, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with cloud deployments, containerized environments, messaging, databases, and API gateway
- Good orientation in software architecture, knowledge of SQL and/or no-SQL databases
- Experience in writing functional documentation and monitoring setup
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Communication skills for effective teamwork
- Interest in new technology
Nice-to-have competencies: Knowledge of GCP, AWS or Azure, experience with IaC preferably the Terraform. Cycling, running or triathlon enthusiast will fit very well into the team
