Even though we're still growing and now have nearly 170 team members, we thrive without traditional managers and manage to maintain a friendly, family-like atmosphere. All our projects aim to make people's lives easier and must pass an internal ethics check. For example, we developed a system for faster international organ exchange for transplants, as well as security for a banking app used by millions of users across Europe

In Applifting, we have a team of 8 Business developers in the so-called CAT (Client Acquisition Team). In comparison to other companies, we are doing many things differently because we believe that teamwork and a systematic approach pay off:

  • No solo KPIs here! We believe in teamwork, so our sales goals are shared as a team KPI, perfectly aligned with the company’s overall targets.
  • Collaboration is our superpower. Every opportunity is tackled in dynamic duos, blending technical expertise with business insights to create value for our customers from day one.
  • Forget “cold calling”—so do we. Our approach to “hunting” is all about smart strategies: being present and active at events, delivering impactful talks, and teaming up with our marketing wizards, who always have a few clever tricks up their sleeves. We know that being systematic (and not a pain in the ass!) makes all the difference.
  • It’s not just about new clients; it’s about the ones we already love. We deeply value our existing partnerships and ensure every client feels supported, whether during a specific project or throughout a long-term collaboration. As part of the Business Developer role, you’ll be there every step of the project lifecycle - from kickoff to closure - making sure we deliver what we promised and serving as the go-to problem-solver if challenges arise.
  • Plans, processes, and plenty of collaboration. We’re big fans of agile practices, which we’ve built into our team’s rhythms. Every two weeks, we kick off a sprint with a clear plan, keep each other updated in stand-ups, and celebrate wins while sharing lessons learned at our Sprint Demo. Monthly workshops help us tackle long-term topics and fine-tune our processes, while quarterly retrospectives are all about reflecting on what worked, learning from our missteps, and sharing case studies to level up together.

Our team includes experts with technical backgrounds, as well as those skilled in product and project management. But what truly sets us apart is our solution-focused mindset and commitment to serving our customers with enthusiasm and support. 


You’ll earn your daily bread by:

  • Identifying new business opportunities and building strong connections.
  • Managing and maintaining our CRM system to keep things organized.
  • Following up with leads from events and ABM activities.
  • Leading proposal processes using our tried-and-true Applifting approach.
  • Negotiating contracts and terms to secure win-win outcomes.
  • Representing Applifting at events, meetings, and networking gatherings as the face of our values and services.
  • Understanding client needs and crafting tailored solutions to meet them.
  • Collaborating with tech leads and architects to create bespoke deals.
  • Building lasting relationships with clients through key account management.
  • Taking ownership of team goals while having the freedom to shape them with your input.

What do we expect from you?

  • You have experience in the IT industry and understand the IT project lifecycle. Basic tech knowledge is a plus to be a strong partner to clients, but you’ll have expert support for advice and solutions.
  • Business meetings and client negotiations are your comfort zone—it takes a lot to faze you.
  • You’re passionate about digital products and stay on top of the latest trends.
  • Independent and proactive, procrastination is poison to you, and you are driven to help the company grow and improve.
  • You’re a people person—skilled at listening, identifying issues, and articulating them clearly, both verbally and in writing. Fluent in Czech and English; German is a bonus.
  • You don’t wait for opportunities; you actively create and nurture new connections.
  • Highly organized, you never double-book or lose track of your commitments.
  • Diligent and persistent, you see things through to the end.
  • Comfortable using Google Sheets, Slides, and Docs.
  • Willing and excited to travel domestically and abroad, especially to the DACH region. Approx. once a month.
  • Reliable and responsible, you’re a great team player who collaborates seamlessly across the company.
